Just found this the other day and have enjoyed making a few little Apps. Most of them are the tutorials but have managed to elaborate on them. I wanted to re-learn Java to start making Android Apps, but found this and its basically "Android App making for dummies"
Its a little limited, but very clever and I'm sure people can come up with some interesting stuff from using it! AppInventor
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread: >Link< (or head over to RFrun.net's comment section!)
I'm currently converting an expenses app I wrote in C# for WinMo so it can run on android, it's a pain in the arse! The codes fine its the UI thats the problem for me. Using vis studio you can place your layout down to the pixel, tried using Eclipse and it seems to move buttons etc of its own accord even when I set explicit co-ords for them lol
Not used App Inventor but it looks to be similar. It's good to get people into writing apps tho
AppInventor is pretty basic but really easy. Just plug the "pieces/blocks" together to code. Im a little bit more knowledgeful on programming so it will have a limit to what it can do but its a nice idea and a good start!
One of the big down-sides is the layout, you cant "assign left/assign right" etc, its pretty basic layout wise.
