In one of the maps I'm currently working on I've stumbled amongst a part of my map that I want the player to move quite quickly up to the second floor of a building, but instead it slows you down when going up the ramp, which is nice addition to the game but I don't want the player to go that slow up it, is it possible a push region maybe able to increase the players walk speed going upwards? It's been a while since I've had a problem like this and i was wondering if anybody might have an idea. I could have a mess around with the idea and try it but I'd rather hear if anybody has any ideas, after all that's what the forums hear for
I posted a picture just in case you wanted a clearer idea of what I meant, The ramp leading up on the right side of the picture. Just to let you know this part of the map is in very early stages so constructive criticism like there's no light bulbs wouldn't really help ;P but I'd appreciate any advice on how a player can get up the ramp at pretty much normal walking speed.
I agree with Goobster. But there are many ways to accomplish this if you don't want to adjust ramp length. Climbing region (but jumping down might be a bugger), a push region, (again, going down = bugger). Or you could put a push region on each side and label up and down with a bar or something down the middle...almost like an straight escalator of sorts.

I don't want it to be longer, that's the point of this thread I thought somebody would at least said directional push region point upwards I wanted to know if that was possible.. I'll give that a try tomorrow.

Climb regions will cause movement issues if a player jumps into or on the ramp.
Jump regions will do the same, and will effect projectiles.
Make your ramp longer or; turn it into a ladder, jump pad or teleporter.
For anyone reading this in 2019 or later: The RF community is alive on the Community Discord
Keeps it same Length, but you can spiral it round a wider box to allow the player to climb more efficiently. (Plus adds a nice element to it)
Trying to find old players. Anyone about? Drop me a PM or reply to this thread: >Link< (or head over to RFrun.net's comment section!)

Those stairs have mud on them Anyway thanks for the answers and idea I'm still not sure what to do with it. Tried it on Mulitplayer and the MP run speed increase doesn't slow you down as much, as on single player.

I do it for fun and we all know RF player base is low. We've been saying it since what 2003-2004? You really took the time to make an account just to say that? CENSORED retard.
LOL I think it's funny how people keep saying the game is dead...While back in factionfiles.com they are working on a new Pure Faction. If the game is so dead then why bother. That's because it's not dead until the last to players left in Red Faction are done playing the game.
