Quoting Izzy | To be honest, I see their point that you shouldn't have said they were censoring things, you had no real proof of that... |
No proof?
My post got deleted? Deleting a post IS censorship in the Internet world. We been accused of that and never have denied it. Many (if not all) times it was done to "try" and prevent further flame wars here.
They have their reasons. They stopped making pure faction because they want people to be thankful. If you are going to do something do it for a selfish reason. The maps that I did, I did because I liked the game and I wanted to contribute to it. I didn't really care if people like them or not (well I kinda do) but they have the choice of not keeping them right. Never did I force it on them.
Putting the blame on me is just a bunch of poop.
I'll be honest. It doesn't really effect me in any way if they decided not to continue the project. The current version of pure faction is fine the way it is.
They wanted to make it "their way".
Bright skins? Really no no REALLY?
Hit Sounds might of been a good idea and it sounded like players liked it. Personally I don't need them. I don't worry so much if am hitting somebody or not. I shoot. If I hit I hit. If I get fragged, I respawn and we can go at it again.
Trotskie really did a good thing with Pure Faction (except for changing the color on the heat sensor ).
The guys at factionfiles.com are doing the community a real service that as far as I know, it goes on un-thanked. I read that faction files might be closing down in their forums a few months ago. I spoke to Goober while in the game and asked him why. Money. All he asked for was the amount to purchase the extension of the domain name which was 50 dollars. I gladly send it to him via pay pal. Their site is what is basically keeping the auto-download working and keeps more players STILL playing Red Faction.
Rol_K bought the domain name for the default address(rf.thqmultiplay.net) and keeps a tracker up so that players don't have to add/change the games default tracker IP address. He is also somebody that is helping keep this game alive.
To sum it all up, a big THANK YOU goes out to Trotskie, Rol_K, Digital Ruler, Goober & all mappers/modders good or bad. Like it or not, they helped in a biggest way to keep this game alive....without any real gratitude from the community. |
