The same textures were used in portal 2 from portal 1. They added more to make it look like it was decaying. I have plans for the decaying effect if I can fit them in. Right now, im fully concentrating on getting the level finished before details are added. I have to make sure that I can fit it all in before I go on a detail spree and get the level half done that ive ran out of faces.

No RF sounds will be put in to this map.

Its good to listen to when mapping for RF.

I will not offend you all, RF music is wicked. It is good to listen to but the RF sounds do not match the theme of my map, so it would be silly to have those sounds in my map.

Its like having a lemon tree with a apple growing on it. It just doesnt fit!

Also, more beds will be added because Ric would like to screw me

If it were possible, I would, however, you would be asking me to be creating a single player mod. On another note, this was looked in to a long time ago, and we found out that the portal gun would not work. RF does not have the engine to place a portal on a wall, update the view from that portal to another portal, neither would it be able to work for teleporting you from one portal to the other and the opposite way.

Be pointless to use Geomod. I got no reason to add it because there is no area that needs to be blasted by anyone. On another note, adding geomod to these maps, being so huge that they are may be a bad idea buddy, so no geomod is being added to this map.

***Edit***
I just experimented with geomod on the map and the effects are not too great. Textures that have Full Bright checked go dark and have black squares on them.
No geomod for this map.

Its coming along nicely. I have hit a small snag with the map. Apparently, scrolling textures is going to be out of the question because they require a blast from a explode event to work. When that blast goes off, most of the level goes dark on textures that I have set to "Full Bright" on. This means I have to work around the problem and create a few VBM files to animate the textures. I am currently working on the Sunlight bridges, and the scrolling textures was going to be my easy way out, but this does not appear to be the case. So a VBM animation for the Sunlight bridges is going to be my only way around this. If anyone has any other suggestions, I am open to them .

Not sure if it'll work, but try having the explode outside of the level, I mean in a room that's not connected to the rest of the map. I probably tried it at some point, but I can't remember the results.

Alternatively, rooms that you want "fullbright", just put an ambient light room effect in the room with 255,255,255 set as its ambience.

Also, if your whole level is fullbright, you can just get the global ambience in level properties to 255,255,255.

the lighting shouldn't change as long as its not in the same room/ if you stick a portal in the middle of it, then its not classed as the same room and the messed up lighting effect will be split in 2. Just so you got an idea.

I'd build a air brush and make it a portal. then build a solid wedge(less faces/vertexes) or a cube in it and explode it, put a little delay on the explosion so it doesn't lag just after the levels finished loading. make sure the explosion does not touch the edges of the air brush.
I'm sure there's other ways you can do it. but I'd just gave ya my idea.



Also what Goober said. If you just want one area lit up. make it a room effect object and set it to light ambient to what ever light color you want.
