Just curious if anyone plays Warhammer (either kind)?
I used to play YEARS ago back when I was a kid. Weirdly though, my brother asked me a few months back if I fancied starting again and collecting them. As me and my brother regularly fall out, I figured it would be something for us to have in common! So I dug out my old army and have been painting & playing the odd game with him. It does have to be said, I forgot that it could actually be quite immersive and fun!
Even found another friend who collects, so have had a few games with him as well.
Anyone else? |

That game was amazing back in the days. Ran on Windows 98 . I use to play it a lot when I was young. I think that was my first ever strategy game, followed by Command & Conquer Red Alert. |

Yeah, table top versions - played Warhammer for a few years, moved onto 40k when I went to work for Games Workshop in one of their stores as a part time 18 year old looking for money before Uni.
In the first 3 weeks I was there we were understaffed. Shop had a manager, a full time employee and me.
Then the manager was arrested for stealing from the store and the full time guy resigned a week after that I went from part time to effectively managing the store, ordering stock, going to the bank each morning... all on £3.22/hr (minimum wage for < 18 yr/old at the time). heh. Nearby store sent someone over to help twice a week so we had two staff on a Sat and I could take a day off during the week. Fun times... fun times... |

LOL! Sounds about right, they only ever seem to have one guy in the shops at the best of times.
So far I have lost 2 Games and played about 12. So not too shabby.
Incidentally, I play Orks, as lets face it, they are the coolest ones and hilarious when they basically blow themselves up. |

Quoting VGames | I wish Bethesda would make an open world game using the 40K setting and theme. Would be epic. I never played anything that had to do with Warhammer but I love the art style of it all. Big guns, heavy armor, and orcs. Very cool. I love swords and guns being used at the same time. Good luck on your next game Beatonator. |
Cheers mate
I have a few nasty surprises up my sleeve for my next few games. My friend ran in to one of them last week when I inflicted 17 Wounds with a Burna (negating all saves) |

No they aren't mine. They are just some examples I found.
Will have to take some pictures of mine, but they dont look remotely as good as those!
You use a Tape Measure/Ruler. Most standard Infantry move 6" |

That story is amazing. How did it finished? |
I went to Uni 6 weeks later, the job was only temporary. As my manager was the one that knew and didn't have any record of this when he went running from the police, it caused a bit of a panic when I reminded the manager of the other nearby store I was leaving.
I went back at Christmas that year after the first term, just to see how it had worked out. The staff there I didn't recognise but they knew my name, I had become known as the saturday part timer that had run the store for 6 weeks and yet still met all the sales targets, kept the store in a good condition, stock all ok, regulars still coming back etc despite having only one 5 minute training session on banking and one 5 minute session on stock ordering from the full time staff member who resigned and buggered off.
I missed my calling |

Will try and get some pictures shortly. Half my army is unpainted and my camera is out of battery so may have to use my phones.
Will probably upload them tomorrow as I rarely get online at home. |
