Was talking with a friend the other day while we was split screening on serious sam 3 
We was talking about the recent flow of games getting a "HD" version and we both mentioned red-faction. However i said its pretty good as it is, it only needs more support for modding, mapping and vehicle/bots in multi-player. So my personally suggestion would be to update the code. Although I'd pay for a HD version not matter what was changed in it, because its great.
I hope somebody does buy it and does something with red-faction 1. Everyone loved Red-faction, whether is was on PS2 or PC. So even if this was to happen I'm sure people on ps3/xbox360 would buy it also. For me it would be a dream come true, to see RF brought back to life. |

Well all the IP's are up for grabs along with Volition.
Both Saints Row & Red Faction are listed as a "Franchise" that is available.
I read about the situation on another website and apparently Ubisoft are interested in some of THQ's properties. I really hope so as Ubisoft seem to be going from strength to strength. |

Makes sense now, why THQ pack has been on sale on steam, for awhile and cheep. make a few bucks before they sell it |

Also Red Faction, Saint's Row, and Volition are all being sold separately. There's nothing to say Red Faction will go where Volition goes. We could end up with Red Faction: Redux made by Valve or Epic. (which I would love, because GeoMod would end up in either the SourceSDK or the UDK) |

That is true. I could be totally wrong when i say this, but Geo-mode code is copyrighted. So anyone who does buy it, is able to use it in their own engines? |

Geo-Mod's methods and code are under copyright yes, and the name Geo-Mod is a trademark as well. |

So Koch Media (developers of Dead Island and Stalker: Clear Sky) bought Volition for $22 million. Still no word on what's to come of Red Faction, Geo-Mod, Saint's Row or Freespace.

Koch Media is here in germany. RED FROG and me should visit them and arrange a Red Faction 1 HD for us!  
but seriously a good chance: writing emails to Koch Media regarding red faction to show interest.

From what I read of the Red Faction link from dead999 the majority seem to be liking RF 1 the best. I guess there's always a chance of a re-released with better graphics and updated geo-mod. |
