Hey guys.
Just finished testing my map and am very happy with it. Have not made many maps in total but this seems to be turning out well.
It's called CTF-Shopping-Mallreg/rail and is set (surprisingly) in a shopping center. I'm making 2 different versions for reg or rail.
The rail BETA will soon be on the autodownloader hopefully, if not, you can always get it at my website: http://bumblerf.sytes.net
The reg version is nearly done. Just need to play it through with some people to see how it flows and then will upload it to faction files.

Looks good for a start
My suggestion would be:
Tiling - You need to vary the walls a bit as the tiling doesn't look great, easy fix though.
Take the second screenshot as an example. The texture tiles about 6 times? (vertically)
Here's a handy diagram I just made:

A - Initial brush, in this example its 20 Tall and 8 wide
B - Divide the brush height by 4 (Giving us 5)
C - Create Splits to divide the sections (4 Splits required to create 5 Faces)
This is now ready for you to texture each section differently, giving you more variation.
D - you can move the splits around in the Vertex option allowing you to make Skirting, or dividers between wall sections. You can also shape the ceiling and EXTRUDE certain faces to create ledges. This makes a room more interesting and different from a box with the same texture tiled over it.
This technique can be used on the floors as well, to create different flooring.
Example: A walkway. Have a corridor 8M wide, put 2 Splits in it (To make 3 sections), Edit the Splits in the Vertex mode, so you have 2M, 4M, 2M sections. Texture the middle 4M with carpet, then texture the 2M on either side with Wood.

Firstly, can't see the diagram! 
Secondly have you been to a large shopping complex? They always save money on the same walls and tiling in shops. I might change the flooring in the shops and on the roof though.
The main aim of this map really is for gameplay. I've tried to keep it looking half decent too though. It plays really well though.

cool. thanks for the post. I've edited some of the textures and the map in general looks a lot better. The BETA version of the map is already released and you are able to it play on the >m2B! server. The final version of the map will be released shortly and that will replace the BETA.

Any better?
Also on the reg version I'm making there's a bug where everyone died repeatedly and then the server crashes. Any ideas?
(Edit) This may happen in the Rail version too but I haven't seen it happen yet. Others say it has.

is there any event objects in the map? if so try tell us what they are, and what they are linked to |

The only object events are the spawning of the entity characters. So there is a when_dead connected to a spawn_object that spawns a person. There are four of these. |

Hi hepdavid, thats a definite improvement! Good Job! 
If you wanted to, you could make a little archway around each of the doorways in the screenshot?
I can't really talk as my maps have always been about Gameplay first and detail second, but if you can find time to squeeze in a little detail here and there it really does change the atmosphere!
You could even put some Team decals on the walls to help signify its the Red Team base, or Red Lighting? (Just a shade of Red and same for Blue team?)
With regards to the dying constantly issue, I can only think of it being down to one of the below:
- Player Taking excessive Damage (EG an Instant Death region?)
- Player getting crushed
- Triggers / Events that cause damage/death
Do you have any instant death regions?
Any Triggers?

See my previous reply. Other than that I only have brushes, textures and basic items. No real reason. I've got rid of the spawned entities and so far it hasn't crashed...but the original didn't crash for a while anyway. still needs more testing really.
