As in PC online games, I finally got my PC up and running and gave it the upgrade it desperately needed. So I was wondering what are you guys playing atm?
I hear CS source is turnt up still 
All the pc games I had like, crysis warhead, lord of the rings middle earth, etc, are completely dead, or have their servers shut down. I was looking for a good active game like CS to jump into and flex my new CPU parts.
Any suggestions? |

I'm not a big PC gamer any more sadly. Mostly consoles for me. Mind you I never was a massive PC gamer just the occasional games that hooked me!
Have you tried the latest CoD? Or wait for CoD:Ghosts to come out? Pretty sure they will be busy these days! |

Yea, I see consoles have kinda killed pc gaming a bit these past years. When red faction was big that was about PC gaming eras prime.
Yes, I do plan to get ghosts, but on console, I'm on ps3 as well. Most of my friends are on ps3 so I'll pass on getting it for pc. You have ps3 beat?
So far I downloaded dota2 and TF2

PC gaming couldn't be better actually. I assume you talk about prime era because that's when you were really playing RF, but no, PC Gaming has far outweighed consoles for several years. The difference now, is that with AMD making the purchases to be a part of both the PS4 and XBOX One hardware as well as their wanting to use Mantle, I can actually see a brighter future even more-so for PC Gaming than ever, as console ports will no longer be exactly that, crappy ports. Using lower level hardware api in development for both console and PC, using AMD's hardware they take advantage of a POSSIBLE 1:1 ratio port to PC for certain games.
There will always be console fanboys saying how much better consoles are, but honestly, I'd rather they keep their crappy graphics and controller so I can play with Hi-Res textures and gorgeous graphical beauty on my pc! Not to say consoles don't have their uses, good for kicking back on a couch and just playing with company or relaxing and picking up a controller. But aside from that, meh, my PS3 will forever be a glorified bluray player, nothing more lol.
For decent current games, look at Metro Last Light, Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Bioshock Infinite (my favorite), Hitman: Absolution, Tomb Raider, Assassins Creed 3 (if you like those games), Dishonored, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and since you mentioned CounterStrike, CounterStrike Global Offensive is the current iteration of CS. (Source was nerfed badly for competitive play by the Orange Box update) |

I don't have a PS3, I play on Xbox Live.
Personally the golden era of PC gaming would be back when Starcraft & Brood Wars came out.

I've been known to play CoD Modern Warfare from time to time. I do however still play Red Faction almost daily. As far as CoD I rarely played it because I use to have a poppy DSL connection. Now I am with cable and a faster connection but sadly I still rarely play CoD. I guess because I really suck at it. I need to play it more I guess to improve my game. I haven't even prestige in the game but I am only a few points away from doing it. I might not do it since I hear you lose all the weapons you can use. |

You don't have to prestige. You get the choice (I believe anyway!)
I've never prestiged in any of the CoD games I've played! 
In MW3, I think I'm around rank 40 something, I only play it on and off though. |

You are correct. I doubt I will prestige as well. I don't want to lose what I've earned. 
COD Modern Warfare is not as active as on might think. I really don't like playing DM on it. I usually stick to teams. I like playing Kill confirm and domination. If I just pick Kill Confirm, it takes a long long time before I can join a server. Presentaly I can't create a server unless I unplug my router from my other router. DAMN MOTOROLA ROUTER/MODEM won't allow me to open a port when another router is before my computer.  |
