Sorry about that...It's all fixed now Frank... the cat decided to go for a walk on the keyboard when I wasn't looking. (BTW...this was after I finished testing it on Windows ME)

Well RedFrog... all my programs come with all necessary support files which includes some Windows system files that you may or may not have already installed. I do this so that the person downloading the program is assured that it will work and that they won't get error messages saying "....xyz.dll missing" or "Can't find abc file".
I can assure you that there is no file in ANY of my programs that will screw up Windows or interfere with any other application on your pc. In fact with my later versions I run an extra uninstall routine that will even delete unecessary registry settings that my programs have put there. So in fact when you uninstall any of my programs they are really uninstalled. There is no trace of them left (unlike many other software that happen to leave registry settings behind).
All my programs have been tested on Windows 98, SE, ME and XP. Even during early testing I have never come across any serious errors where my applications have interfered with other applications or where any data was lost.
I am not a professional programmer. I am a motor mechanic. I learned a bit of Visual Basic as a hobby and the "Hermit's Reticles" was my second program, "RF Patch Switcher" the third and "RF ServerAssist" the fourth.
I made these programs to make it easy for other people to enjoy Red Faction. Easy to set up a dedicated server, easy to change between the 1.2 and 1.3 patches and an option to change the default reticles in the game.
If people want to use my programs then good, if they don't...it's their choice. I have always provided support for all those programs and even went as far as making special alterations for some people. All anyone has ever had to do is email me.
Cheers!

Hermit, Your work is much appreciated here I'm using the new version for my server now. Is there any chance of getting a list of all the dependencies of the program so I can try to get it working on mandrake 9.1. In effect I need to install it to a fake windows C drive, so I need to know what files it uses that come as default on a windows platform. Ive managed to get the proggy to start but when I click a button (that brings up another window) it locks up.

Perhaps I can make a patch "just for you" that brings the "Ban" button back.
You are the man. I was also wondering about all the errors when i started up. You read my mind and fixed it also.
Now that you have done all that.......I kind of dont dare ask for this next one. I was wondering if it would be possible for the anticrash feature for 98. That would be cool for it to restart by itself when it crashes. Although I dont think I have seen the server crash in a long time. Lazy ban use to kill the servers sometimes. Does that still happen? I havnt had to ban anyone in a long time.
Well Lothar...the restart feature is already there. (Click Options>>>Master server&launch override, then put a tick on "Restart server after crash")
The program will restart the dedicated server if it crashes...but if Windows crashes it won't restart the actual pc.
As far as LazyBan is concerned if you ban using LazyBan2 then sometimes the server will crash. I have spoken to Subz about this and it's more to do with the RF code itself. You might Ban 8 times in a row and on the 9th it may crash the server. If you have the restart feature enabled the dedicated server will re-start anyway.
You can run the "RF Anticrash" patch by Subz which fixes a couple of vulnerabilities in RF...or you can use my "RF Patch Switcher 1.5" which has had the "RF-AntiCrash" patch and "Green Team" patch already applied.
Cheers!
