I downloaded the RFSAand set it up, but when I actually try to play my Red Faction game online, No servers come up. What the heck is wrong?

All these n00bs...especially IAC...The Red Faction port is 7755

In RFServer Assist where it says Force Port type in 7756..Then open the RF Launcher and click on Setup then Network and where it says Force Local Port type 7755.Now play...

I have a Linksys Model NR041, would that have something to do with all this?
I sent you a tutorial that I did in word format. It seems like maybe you didn't forward the port to the correct PC as it is not showing up for other people. The other thing could be that "if" you have a software firewall you might need to disable it.

Can you create more than one server on one computer?
Why would you want too?

it doesnt matter if u put 7755 in rf or in server assist. as long as the port is different in rf then it is in server assist

Alright, frank, i got the document and there's a small problem.
When i goto type the ip address that the document told to me to type (ip: 192.168.1.1) in Internet Explorer it takes me to the "Page Cannot be Displayed", when i type in my ip in IE (my ip: 10.20.33.69) it takes me to the "Page Cannot be Displayed" page aswell, when i type in my external ip address (external ip: 63.145.38.184) it takes me to the "Page Cannot be Displayed" page too, before i could access my router like that but now it doesnt take me to the router configuration page, it takes me to the "Page Cannot be Displayed" page.
These problems are getting really annoying! And i want to run more than one server on only one computer that's why i asked. But i shouldnt ask that question until i get one server working.

P.S.
Frank i went to your "Server Information" page and there's nothing there that talks about server information just a picture.

Actually you need to type this address in your Internet Exploere(EI):
http://192.168.1.1/

If it has another address then I am sorry but your internet explorer should have added the http:// any way.

As far as the server page, there should be a yellow tab on the left hand side that is mark Server Rotation.

I put in that ip but it just takes me to "Page Cannot Be Displayed" page, my ip has changed, it used to be that now its 10.20.33.69 thats the first time its ever changed (my ip changed to 10.20.33.69 about a month ago).

On your site it says Map Rotation not Server Rotation and when i clicked on it the link was broken.

Port Forwarding for the Network Everywhere NR041 Cable/DSL Router

Step 1:
To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Take a look at our Static IP Address guide for your router.

Step 2:
Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape.

Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://192.168.1.1 in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1.By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.2. If one doesn't work try the other.

Step 3:
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter username and password now. If you haven't previously setup a username and password, leave the username blank. Enter admin as the password, and then click the Ok button.

Step 4:
Click the Advanced Setup button in the upper right hand corner of the window. Doing this should bring you to the filter setup section.

Step 5:
We will take a quick look here, to make sure the ports you want to forward are not listed. Make sure your ip address is not listed in the Private IP Range. If your ip is included in a range there, remove it. Check the Private Port Range table for the ports you want to forward. If the ports you want to forward are listed in one of these ranges, you need to remove that port range. You could then read the ports outside of the range you wish to forward. Make sure that the Block WAN Request option is set to Disable. Then click the Forwarding tab at the top of the window.

Step 6:
Enter the name of the service you wish to forward in a box under the Customized Applications heading on the left hand side of the screen. Put the port range you wish to forward into the Ext Port boxes. The lowest port number should go into the box on the left hand side, while the highest port number should go into the box on the right hand side. If you are unsure of the port range/ranges check the Ports list page or the software manufacture's homepage. Put a check in the Protocol TCP box if the ports you are forwarding run on the TCP protocol. Do the same for the UDP Protocol box. Enter the ip address to forward these ports to, in the IP Address box. This should be the ip address of the computer that is running the software which you are forwarding ports for. Put a check in the Enable checkbox. Click the Apply button at the bottom of the screen.

And that's it! You're done!

BTW your router is actually made by Network Everywhere and not LINKSYS, which is why what I sent you want's working

The information was brought to you by this page: Guides for the Network Everywhere NR041 Cable/DSL Router. Go there if you need more help with understaning your router.

To find out your internal IP address you will still need to type this in under run: cmd /k ipconfig.

Ok one question:
Who bought the router?
The person that bought it should know what the router's IP address is or maybe still have the paper work stating the routers IP address(LAN address). Without you having access to the router/switch then you wouldn't be able to forward any ports. I don't know if it's set up to maybe only allow a certain PC or person to be able to log in the router. Once you get to access the router's setting then all the rest should fall into place.
Personally I would never buy a switch. I would rather stick with a router. I am not completly sure but from what I heard a switch basically only allowed one computer on at a time. But like I said that is what they told me at an electronics store.
Get yourself a real LINKSYS router(not switch) and leave your troubles behind.

Haha, it IS a Network Everywhere router! Why the hell does it say Linksys? Should i get a switch because i only run one computer off it? Do i need a router at all for my DSL line?

It's kinda made by LINKSYS or something like that.
Like I said before based on what I was told I would rather use a router any time than a switch.
