RF3 is never comming look at their stupid game THE PUNISHER

Error with server conection like last time ?? Go to www.devilzcan.com they have almost all the IP adresess you can add and play rf online
another error with making servers? Check your router settings ! or look into your firewall options and let have RF.EXE ALL INET ACCESS

RF server assist problems ? Play rf when sa is running ? Download the Patch from here www.levels4you.com ! and change everytime you startup rf the port number, other problems check firewall or rfsa settings !
You cant JUST export from rf2 just remake it.
RF is cool and if you think else search for the other topics or leave it !

Can't say I blame him but there are people who are new to this site and RF and the search function isn't always that helpful when it comes to forum posts unless you know exactly which thread you are looking for before you start.

I know some mappers are perfectionists. I also know that DaC is a great mapper. I know also that ferrit gets annoyed at the quality of maps that get released.
Let me just say this though.
Ferrit, I remember when you didn't know your arse from you elbow. I remember when you 1st started playing RF. I remember that Lotsa and Muse introduced you to the game and I remember the first time I met them was the day their 1st map came out. I remember RF before they even started. Everyone has to start somewhere.
I realise that you are a perfectionist. I know you won't release a map before you think it's done to your standards and I know we've been robbed of some cool maps because they didn’t meet your standards. 
I know that your micro will be released about 15 years after RF has finally kicked the bucket too.
When it comes to new mappers though I think everyone should be encouraging. I'm not saying you have to pretend to like a map when you think it's crap but this game isn't exactly the most popular. We should be grateful we're getting any new mappers at this stage and encouraging them to get better.
* The above was not directed at ferrit as I know he does way more than his fair share to help new mappers.
I guess it was directed at the likes of ergeben.

The only person that even comes close to equalling ergeben's stupidity is the staff member that actually approved this [Censored] e. Maybe they just weren't paying any attention.
As for the other reviews of that map, well Eos's is ok apart from the last sentence and elliooo's is what a review at this site is supposed to be like.
I know in this world some find it fun to crap all over other peoples creations but RF needs everything it can get right now.
The staff member(s) who approved the rest of those reviews need a slap. Seriously, according to the rules only 2 out of 7 of those reviews should have been allowed. The reason you get to approve reviews is to make sure they conform to site rules. Which part of "I think I'm going to be sick!!!" did you think was positive. 
I still think that the staff review system is stupid but some members shouldn't be let anywhere near a review.

Here comes that topic again.
What discourage me the most is to see the great reviews and the number of downloads earned by a map which is an utterly simplified replica of a map i released and which got no success.
RF doesn't really need more maps. If people were to explore old maps they would find some great ones. My estimations are than about 10 to 20 percents of the map released are actually played. Adding other maps (crappy or not) won't revive the game since people who don't have it or gave up playing won't see them.

Was there a need to repeat what Eos had said.
A review for this map had already been "unreleased" because it was deemed too harsh. i can't imagine it wasn't clear to the mapper that that map would have no success. It's far away from played maps' standards. And it would be a waste of time to open it and place it in your folder.
Reviews are here to avoid that.
If skeletor wants to be cheered up, let him offer a self made present to his mother. We are not a charity.

I am a perfectionist TMINE, but don't disgrace me because of that!
I made many many maps and messed a lot in the editor before releasing my first map. I also found that many other good level editors for other games clearly advise that you do not release your first map, yet use it to learn and build on what you have learnt.
I would never want to discourage anyone from mapping, I just try my best to bring out the best in people, maybe I go about it the wrong way sometimes. But I, along with many others, are always willing to help out fledgling (and not so unexperienced) mappers, it's just that some don't wanna know or don't take onboard the advice. Then they wonder why their maps don't get played, and Garner wonders why he's struggling for webspace. There is no need for it!
This isn't a rant TMINE so don't feel the need to go explaining yourself to me
PS you should be in bed at 6:14 am anyways!!!

In my opinion ferrit is a great mapper so I was using him as an example. I remember some great maps being made before he even heard of RED Editor. He didn't just pick up RF one day and become a great mapper overnight. I remember thinking that your first map was pretty rubbish too Molo.
My point was that everyone has to start somewhere.

Ferrit didn't release his first maps but some people do. Should we try to be as nasty as possible towards them? Should we try to make sure they never map again? I don't think so.
Better to encourage them to improve don't you think? I don't think any of RF's mapping legends made a masterpiece the 1st time they ever opened RED.
Reviews are personal opinions. Just because you think a map is worth 5 stars doesn't mean everybody will feel that way. It's the same the other way round.
I've lost count of the amount of times I've said that but lets just get things straight. We're not talking about a review.
Ergeben might have submitted it as a review but it wasn't. It was just sticking the boot in. It was the same thing we've seen before here. It was nasty, spiteful, pointless and moronic.
It shouldn't have been posted and it certainly shouldn't have been approved by a staff member here.
I think a (so called) review like that should disqualify that person from making anymore reviews here.

That's your arrogance molo. It's shared by quite a few people here and a lot of the people who reviewed the map you linked to. It's the inability to accept that other people can like a map you yourself dislike. This site isn't called Levels4Molo and just because you dislike something that doesn't mean that its no good. |

Just wanted to point out that actually a rail will leave you with 13 if you have 200/200 and get a shot to the body 
The rest is just kinda boring |

My first map was pretty rubbish, indeed and the second one too and none of they deserved their good reviews. But there was an idea behind and a bit more work than in a cube.

No, i think new maps won't increase the number of players. The maps that are released are done for a little number of players and Ergebern is one of them. He has a role as a player in the "survival" of Red Faction.

I don't think any of the RF mapping legends ever released a box even under another name.
I don't think that a mapper who release a cube did expect good reviews. Would be an insult toward good mappers. I admit the reviews could be more constructive with the same rating. But it's not always easy to specify what is wrong in a cube. Furthermore that's so obvious. When a map is rated zero. That means there is no work and nothing good in it.

That's what you're not supposed to judge them. If the mapper is mature enough, he will make a synthesis, a means of his marks or he will withdraw the worst and best reviews.
Do that with this map and it's still bad, yet
You can't hide it. The mapper will surely realize it and if he truelly expected good reviews (which would surprise me), he will be desapointed.

My maps was not the only one to be pretty similar to dark death. Sorrow had also released a map with much more work in it. And the theme and gameplay were extroadinary close. She got bad reviews from the very same one who gave a good review to dark death.There are plenty of maps i dislike but i can recognize those who had no effort put in them. you can't accept a review you don't like and it's not better.
The truth is that your little intervention artificially boosted the rating and reviews of dark death by triggering (along with me and others) a little clan war among l4y users?
Are you again trying to boost his number of download.
Btw, where is leninator? Still playing? no longer reviewing, mapping. Don't you think you could do more harm by calling reviewers morons after highjacking a thread whose purpose was unclear than Ergerben adding another bad reviews after so many other.
You may dislike Ergeben's review but he could arse himself doing it. unlike others, ain't it, T-M-I-N-E.

I can't honestly say I like arguing with you molo because I'm not sure I've ever had an actual argument with you.
What usually happens is I say something then you reply misunderstanding or misrepresenting what I had originally said so I reply explaining what I had said in the first place then you reply pretending that I'd said something completely different. It's annoying more than anything.
With Juice's map I made a valid comment in the appropriate thread and you replied pretending I'd said something that I hadn't. That topic was blown way out of proportion by your inability to actually read a post before replying to it and the fact that Len and Stal are a lot more comfortable giving criticism than they are recieving it.
As for ergeben's "review", do you honestly think "I think I'm going to be sick!!!" is a valid review? I couldn't give a toss whether he likes the file or not but that is not a review. You think he should recieve a round of applause because he posted it? The only thing it does is insult the guy.
Well fair enough, as ergeben doesn't mind insulting people why should I be concerned about insulting ergeben?
He posted something moronic so I called him a moron. Big deal. |
