I'm not sure if you've got the rules sorted, but I thought about how you could work this. This would be how I would do it - Since you play 3 maps per round, then both players can pick a map they wish to play. The third map will be choosen by the admin each week from a list of the maps deemed most sutible to play 1on1's in.
For me, some of these maps would be:
DM01 - Lobby
DM02 - Inst X
DM03 - Waste
DM05 - Hanger5 (i think)
DM10 - Anyway
DM20 - Hermis
They are probably more than these few but I can't be bothered loading RF and looking just for a theory which may not be accepted. Regardless the one's I would discount are those which are considerd too large, consist of multiple amps, or have an invincible orb (white god mode powerup). However each player should be allowed to choose their home map from all the defaults, not including watchyourstep or zip(i think its called), as they are not included with all versions of the game.
Just my thoughts... I'm willing to play 1on1 once again for the chance of winning a few quid.
P.S. I know these things are hard to arrange at short notice, however... Would it not make more sense to be hosted sometime after xmas - while loads wont need to go to work, or school? (obviously dont have a round on the week of newyears either  ) |

Well you wont. Finding a server to hold 32 would be hard enough...
It would be more resonable to split the players into groups the size of 16. Say you get a group of 16 euros, play them in a DM - the top 8 make the cut. They then split into 4 1on1's, if the same happens for the amercans, then in the first 1on1 round there would be 8 matches. I think this is resonable... To work well this would need around 32 players.
If this is serious and is giving a date, then I'm sure I can find a few extra players at short notice. In fact... |
