Iv been playing the full version of RF since around 8-2-2001 and slowly the servers are emptying. I was playing the other day and i noticed that 1 in every 3 players Cheats, it is just sad that so many people would take advantage of a feature put in the game to allow alternate versions of the game to be made and use it to ruin the game rather than make it better. I wonder how long RF will last.  |

Before evryone else starts with the "Oh no not another one of those RF dying threads"......
I was surprised at the number of people playing RF yesterday. It seemed like alot of players playing, of course nobody seems to play custom maps.
My answer: No, it is not near the end.  |

Yeah that is a bit of a broad statement to make about players cheating. What evidence are you going on? Were they all flying or using other blatantly obvious cheats or were they just hard to kill? |

It's sad that you think that but then again you seem to leave a server when things aren't going your way(you aren't winning).
*In my opinion*
I think you don't have the facts straight about what is a cheater and what is a regular player(better than you). |

I play in the same 5 or 6 custom servers all the time now. A couple of them also run the occasional default map and I hardly see any modders anymore. I saw 2 yesterday but I might not come across another for weeks.
Maybe it's different in servers running default maps only but in custom servers modders seem to be only an occasional menace. There is nowhere near the amount of cheaters that there was a couple of years ago.
Maybe if your regular server is being over run you should contact the server admin or move to a different server. |

Whenever I get a cheater in my server 95% of the time is on a default map. I still run defaults between customs but that is not to attract cheater but to attract new players that don't know about customs.
I could care less if the cheaters don't ever get customs as they don't belong in this game. They should stick with a single player part of the game and stay away from online multiplayer games(PERIOD).

Yeah I remember, back in my day, modders used to go out and download all the map packs. These days the younger generation are too lazy for that. Honestly, the youth of today... |

I played in a custom CTF map server exclusively for about a year, or more and in that time we only have one modder. He managed to return a few times, but it was always the same guy. I swear, I used RCON twice in the full time. Once to ban the fake "venitti -=TS=-" modder, and once to ban some kid who wouldn't shut the hell up and stop calling me a cheater, and that was after about an hour of warning him. |

i dedided to jump in and start playing a few games the other day (been playing Half Life2) and i went to around 10 servers and it was 1 in every 3 players joining the servers were using full out cheats (ghost,flying,rapid fire exc). i started this thread to find out if it was allways like this now or if it was just an unlucky day.. and i have noticed that there are more cheaters in the default maps vs the custom maps but there are just to many new maps comming out i gave up on trying to keep up. |

yea the only custom maps i get to used out of the 100 is checkmate rail and anit noob rail
shame there is alot of very good ones out there. but thats y theirs franks server  |

I still play 2 or 3 hours every night and see a modder maybe once a week. It's just good excitment to be able to ban someone from time to time |
