Overall, im impressed. However, i think the "glow" of the saber should increase. In some of those screens, it looked like the other players were carrying a bat. Other than that, good progress.
I have an itchy, irratable rash. It's RED.

RoMeK That level looks cool. Is that a Deathstar level? It looks like that one from Episode 1.

RoMeK you better not be making the same level as me! I was making Bespin ages ago. the one where Han gets frozen. im doing the actual City, im doin the mining colony. you get the actual city ok?

Yeah.. I cant get it to "glow" properly... definitely need some help with that. Ive got the 3rd person model looking a bit better, but not by much.

To BEATONATOR and Kungkrille/slitz/romek:

On the rail gun theres a bright thing that moves backward and forward along the length of the rails... is there anyway i can "steal" this for the lightsabre, or make my own one that will help bring the lightsaber out of the dark

I have another thought about the glow.

In weapons.tbl, there is the flag: "has_pilot_flame". That flag is making the weapon emit particles constantly. (In hte flamethrower's case -- the flame particles.)

The attributes for those particles -- I believe -- are modified in emitters.tbl, in the
$Name: "flamethrower head" group.

It would take some time to setup, but it should work. Maybe Kungkrille knows the dummy that controls the positioninig of the flame origin.

* And I forgot to mention that the particles can have a glow, and can be transparent of course.

The dummy is called "pilot_light_1". I think it´s a vbm called flmthrow_pilot.vbm and not particles. Anyway, it could work but I guess it´s hardcoded for just the flamethrower(so move the sword from riot stick to flamethrower if I´m right). Have you tried my last suggestions?

Yeah, but they didnt seem to make any difference.

What about if I made a VFX version, and stuck a light in it.. would that work?

Yes, but how do you apply the vfx on the sword handle? I haven´t figured it out. So much seems to be hardcoded. It would have been easier if you had a list of possible dummies for effects like vfx_1, muzzle_1, light_1, ammo_counter_1, corona_1 etc and all would work on all weapons. Then you could specify all dummies to what file they correspond to in a special effects table.

seriously so much i tried in SoD but failed because of so much false possibilities.

In the first pic the inner colour is solid, and in the second one the inner colour is semi-transparent.

Also I made a vbm so that the blue pulses... its not quite volume light, but I think its good enough.

the second one is more realistic looking (for RF anyway). can u send it to me so i can test it out.

P.S. to sobe. what colors are the sabers u gave me.

I like the first better...But if the saber would have a light on it it would be better....Oh and on the movies and games you CAN'T see through the saber
