Time to beat a dead horse. Then why the need to separate the spam forum from the rest of the post count...if the count is not important. By doing so, doesn't it give significance to the post count?
I really do think that separating spam from the post count is a great idea, and looking at my new post count, I didn't realize how much I did spam.

Well, the fact of the matter is, the spam thread obviously became huge on the last site, and while post count doesn't matter to us, it does to some of the folks that were posting there. It got to the point where they were primarily posting there and in some cases only posting there. Making those threads not count towards the post count gives them less of a reason to lurk and to actually take part in some meaningful discussion. And for the folks who think they can start up something new, like the L4Y Story thread, and spam the heck outa that, we have the ability to make ANY thread a spam thread. |
