Now we've got a little settled, its time to shout for help
The Quake 4 and SG1: The Alliance are the network's two newest sections and are asking for help.
Quake 4 is asking for staff members to handle news and files.
To apply for the Quake 4 section : Click Here
SG1:TA is asking for news, files and general content (eg screenshots and links to other community sites)
To apply for the SG1:TA section : Click Here
At this time we are not needing staff for any other site on the network so please dont ask about anything else, you will be ignored! |

I believe that would refer to something much older than Firefox and Opera, although I could be entirely wrong.
Back in the day, Netscape was the one and only browser. Microsoft came along and produced Internet Explorer, which was supposed to be the "great thing" but as was obvious at the time, it was slower, larger, and virus ridden. It mostly just got so huge because it's included with every version of a Microft OS since it came out.
I'm assuming this is what his sig is. Very few people would argue that Firefox is much slower than anything out there right now. |

Its TheRegister's view on Firefox VS Opera.
Opera has had all the functionality (and more) of Firefox for years, yet as they pointed out, FF comes along and everyone acts like its something totally new.
People only know of MS's bad practices and all the virus/security problems because of the media... its the same with Firefox. If the media had done the same with Opera 2-3 years ago, the story would be reversed.
People only use what the mass media tells them to use.
And its not even as if FF is secure. They seem to be finding security issues with it just like IE and Opera, no browser is totally secure. Just every browser is more secure than IE |

Main reasons I like Opera over FF...
I can reorder the tabs in Opera. Even with the extensions in FF you still cant...
To close a tab in Opera, the X is on the tab. In FF its off at the end of the row of tabs... bugs the hell outta me.
When you zoom in on a page in FF, the text changes size and thats it. Opera resizes EVERYTHING, images the lot. If you want to view a webpage at 500%... you really do view the entire webpage at 500%.
I can browse the web from around my house. I've got a bluetooth headset that lets me issue voice commands to Opera. Opera can then read out the webpages to me as I wish. Admittedly I dont do much of this but I do use it a fair bit when I'm just sitting back in my chair and cant be bothered to reach for the mouse |
