I am running an AMD Athlon XP+3000 oc'd @ 2.4GHz, I have a single stick Kingston 512MB DDR400(PC3200) RAM in it, should I need to up the it from PC3200 to PC3500 or simply get another PC3200 stick to total 1GB of System Memory?

I am having a slight problem where the pc will freeze not in anything else but only in burning disks And well, it get's annoying to reformat the same disk over and over..... Anyway, tell me what you think.

More RAM is always a help... but you're system freezing might not be to do with your amount of RAM. It could be a number of things.. like.. something wrong with one of your pieces of hardware.. or temperature.

Yes yes, video card is the issue.... It's been nothing but issues since I got it. Damned piece of crap. Anyway, back to the main question. Should I up my RAM from 512MB to 1GB?

I am curious as to if it will increase my multitasking performance more than just a tad.....

thats what u get for getting a Leadtek should of got a BFG

i think u should upgrade to 1gb that should make ur comp run faster and you should be able to be doing a lot more things at once because ur ram wont get used up as quick... also 512 is probably gonna be the min for games soon and 1gb is probably gonna be the recomended.. so ur gonna have to upgrade in the future anyway so might as well get it done and over with now...

SkipRat... This is not the eMachines... lol

And IAC, you b00b. This is the ATi Technologies ATi Radeon 9600XT that has compatability issues with my mobo I haven't found my PayPal account info to be able to order my Leadtek GeForce 6600GT.
Anyone want to sell their ATi Radeon X850XT for about $5?! lol

And seeing as the Lost Coast expansion pack for HL2 will require 1GB I guess I'll get the stick as soon as I order my vid card.

Oh yea, BFG can suck n00dles. Damn pricey cards... Does BFG company think I'm filthy rich.. WELL IM NOT, lol

Nonetheless, I guess it is needed, especially for the HL2 expansion coming mid-July, Lost Coast.
