I recently made a topic called "button Mashing" That i was told was in the wrong forum.Though i put it in the Quake 4 lounge (by accident).It appears in the regular lounge as well, so why was the topic closed. Supposedly I'd thought the quake 4 general thread was a "spammy lounge" | Quote | This topic was closed because...

Well the lounge is the lounge in any section of the site?
So i dont understand whats happend here?
Or did it get put in the quake general? |

General
Talk about anything Quake 4
Then yes it is a problem  thats for quake discussion only.
But if you mean :
Lounge
The General Forum. A good place to post topics that dont belong to any particular game...
Then i guess thats okay, but it should probably be in the spam thread to be honest, otherwise theres going to be hundreds of topics just about "what i found on the net" |

I posted it in LOUNGE the GENERAL forum.... thats kinda weird isnt it? The lounge is the general forum... |

This is all part of the seperate site changes on this version of the site. In this version, levels4you.com is more a network of sites than one stand alone site, containing sections on different games.
On alot of networks, the different game sites each have a seperate 'Lounge' style forum for general discussion, and some even a separate registration process for each individual site. This is what has happened here.
Eos, went through the Quake 4 forums and posted in the 'Lounge' general discussion thread. The threads that are posted in this forum can be seen from any 'Lounge' forum from any different site. As can be seen here http://farcry.levels4you.com/forum.l4y?do=showforum&forum=63 That is the lounge viewed from FarCry.
It seems this may have just been a small bug associated with the new website.
General Discussion posts should be posted here: http://www.levels4you.com/forum.l4y?do=showforum&forum=63
The Lounge should be accessed through the main L4Y pages, as it s for the entire site, not just those viewing the Quake 4 section. |

Yes, you can. It just means that the thread will be hosted on the Quake 4 section of the site, rather than the main L4Y section. Not that I can see why would want to post from Quake 4, when a post is directed at all users of L4Y. |

Its just been started on a different "subsite" it still counts as the general chat thread - wherever its been started from makes no difference...... it can be seen from all accross the site, it just happens to be hosted in whatever section the author of the post was looking at at the time.
As far as i can see thats the deal with the subsites.
I dont think you have to go to the main page to post... otherwise whats the point in having it in other sections.
It doesnt mean its directed at only quake 4 people. It just means thats where it was started.

So basically the admin was wrong in closing my topic and technically if u wanted to you can post from anywhere. The reason i did it originally was an accident anyway. |
