Two people already voted for "What do I care about 56Kers"?!? I'd like to make you guys try dial-up and see how you like it.  Not everyone is able to get broadband...what if that was you? |

i agree, if we 56Kers had the chance to move up to broaband, i bet we would. the old way to download was way better in my opinion. |

Most people with broadband started out with dial-up, so it would not be a new experience. Make a poll to see what the majority of the L4Y-users have  |

Ya, I got broadband because dial up was much to slow. If you cant get dial up where you live....MOVE!!!!!!!!!!! |

I had dial up for years so meh. I know what its like. Im sure a lot of you guys will get it eventually... plus your probably all younger than me so i deserve it haha.
Hope 56k is wiped out one day.
Whats the problem with it on 56k anyways?
Your download speed is going to be pretty slow whatever happens... 5kbs was the max i ever ever got on 56k.
Now i get 50-60 |

The new download system allows you to have higher download speeds at non-peak times. Before, everyone was stuck with the same speed. Garner had to throttle the bandwidth so everyone would have some. The queue now handles that and if you get in the queue and there's not alot of other people, you get a faster download connection.
As for the 56Kers, its where everyone started out. At least those of us who have been around a few years. You youngin's don't know anything but broadband. Respect your elders! |

First, let me start off by saying...I've got a cable connection so maybe my opinion is tainted. I haven't had a single problem with downloading files. Haven't had to wait in a queue yet. I would recommend a download program. I downloaded the new RFU4 Mappack[155MB] with Download Express and did it in 6 minutes.  |

uuhm i would uuhm call my internet provider, shout at him and next day die because of the slow internet

Ok...you have got to be kidding. Do you really think anyone would "MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!" just to get broadband? Would YOU do that? I doubt it. ...Though, that statement makes much more sense that the one made by ghostkid... |

First, I do not appreciate the rude comments made toward people using 56K modems. Some people may not have the money to get broadband. Before they changed the download system I used a download manager, but I was always respectful because I did not use multi-segment downloading. I am angry with this new discriminating system, and until it is changed will be unable to download most files. The system may make download speeds the same for broadband users but for modem users they don't get any speed because they can't download. |

I'm happy that L4Y had a "make-over", but I cannot stand what they have done to the downlading system! with dial-up, you have to wait for roughly 10-20 minutes to downlad a 5mb file!! Whats more is that if your speed isn't fast at all, the timer runs out, and your download cancels.... |

The timer is only for starting a download. Once you've started it the timer has no effect because what it was timing has already passed... |
