We have limited bandwidth and so you get one connection. Flashget probably opens several, hence the failure. Disable Flashget and try again. I'll say it again. There is no cut off timer once you've started to download. You've got 3 minutes from the point where the site determines you've got a download spot but once you've clicked the link you're out of the queue and downloading. It doesn't have any say over what happens after that.
